Quasar Laser inside Quasar Amusements, South Shields is the laser tag game perfect for kids and adults of all ages.
With a multi-level arena and a selection of missions it’s ideal for games between 2 – 18 people, ages 6* and up.
Sessions are started each hour and only £8 per person. Bookings are made online although we do accept walk-in’s but cannot guarantee immediate availability especially over weekends and school holidays. Please note that sessions can include more than 1 group but we do have an Exclusive Use option where you can have the arena just for your group of up to 18 people.
There’s also a dedicated Party Room so you and your friends can play together with a 1 hour game and then celebrate afterwards. On weekends and school holidays we can supply food and drink for £5.50 per person. The food package is chips with either sausage, chicken nuggets, cod bites or fish fingers. A drink is also offered – water, fruit shoot or small fizzy pop. During off peak times we do offer the Party Room free of charge if you prefer to bring along your own food Pre-booking is required for all parties. You can now book from within the Ocean Beach website where you can also purchase add ons such as Arcade Wristbands or Ride Credits for your Funcard to use in arcades and outside on the rides.

You can use your Ocean Beach Funcards to Tap & Play our arcade games too, including those where you can win prize redemption tickets, making them a simple way to purchase, use and top up credits all on one card you can use every time you visit! We have a great range of game machines with some fanastic prizes including Sonic the Hedgehog, Sing 2, Dalmations and much more.
Enhance your experience with a 30-minute (£5) or 60-minute (£10) Unlimited Game Play Wristband for use within Quasar Amusements.
The wristband will allow unlimited play on the following machines;
Bowling
Basketball
Air Hockey
Luigi Mansion
Wild West Shooting Game
Ring Toss
Mario Kart
Coconut Shy
Wristband will be activated and able to be used for 30 or 60 minutes. Please note that redemption tickets are NOT awarded when using the Wristband – this is for gameplay only.
Cannot be used on cranes, prize machines and coin-operated rides.
Wristbands not available on Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday.
Redemption Tickets
A lot of our arcade games payout red redemption tickets that you can collect and exchange for items in our Sands Amusements Gift Shop, check it out and use your tickets towards everything from sweets and smaller toys, up to larger electronic items and gift cards. Keep all your tickets safe on your Funcard and save up to redeem for larger items. We are always refreshing our stock to include beach games, small toys and Christmas items.
